Indiana State University offers more than 100 majors & minors, over 75 Graduate and Professional programs, and over 70 online programs. We are a mid-sized institution, with an enrollment of about 11,000 students. More than ¾ of our classes have less than 30 students. We are proud of the fact that we are the most diverse residential student population in Indiana. Indiana State University has 15 NCAA Division I athletics teams and are part of the Missouri Valley Conference. We also offer competitive club and intramural sports. In addition, we have over 260 clubs & organizations, including 28 chapters of National Greek Life. We are a research institution & a teaching college.

You may be wondering about our general admission requirements. We are test-optional for general admission. Our average student comes to us with a 3.3 GPA. Students from Illinois who are unconditionally admitted will automatically receive the Midwest Consortium Scholarship which discounts tuition to $11,942. And those students who are admitted with a 3.0 or higher also may receive the Illinois Achievement Scholarship of $2000, which once applied, lowers your tuition down to $9,942 – just in reach of in-state cost. We offer a lot of other scholarships that are stackable & renewable. Our competitive scholarships are great! Some, like our President’s Scholarship, include complete in-state tuition, room & board & a stipend to study abroad!
ISU boasts more than 100 academic majors. Some of our most popular majors and our unique key programs include our nationally ranking Business program that includes Insurance and Risk Management, our fantastic Cybercriminology and Criminal Justice which happens to be our most popular majors. Another key program is our well-known Communication Sciences and Disorders major which was formerly known as Speech Pathology program. We offer Engineering & Engineering Technology programs such as Packaging Engineering Technology, has 100% job placement. We are also well known for Psychology that can lead right into our grad program as early as your sophomore year. Our Aviation, Nursing, Health & Pre-Professional Sciences are some of our other fantastic majors, but more competitive, which require additional applications for admittance. Included in that extra application step, being a teaching college, of course we have an array of fabulous Education majors. Our grads enjoy a 99% placement and on average they earn a starting salary of $57 thousand dollars. If you love the coziness of a small town, but want the convenience of city life, Terre Haute, IN is the college town for you! Terre Haute is settled along the banks of the Wabash River. Terre Haute also celebrates its rich history and brims with cultural activities and parks. Our 435 acre campus is located at the northern part of downtown. It contains tons of lush trees, and an award-winning, sustainable landscape.
